Spunk! Substance Use Support Group

Do you worry about your substance use?

Do you feel ashamed or anxious about being into chem sex or PnP scenes?

Would you like to talk about it and make some positive changes, with other guys who are working on similar goals?

Spunk is a support group for gay, bi, queer and trans men make positive changes regarding drug use, whether those changes are cutting back use for a time, working towards quitting altogether, or increasing some other healthy, helpful behaviours. In Spunk we explore substance use from a non-judgmental point-of-view, how our drug use relates to our sexuality as queer guys, and encourage each other in taking steps towards change. Through weekly discussion with other guys, and guided support from our group faciliators, we can help you regain a sense of control in your drug use, and in your life.

Spunk is a closed group, it’s not a drop-in. This means we can have intimate, supportive, discussions which feel safe to explore. The group is co-facilitated by 2 professionals specialised in gay, bi and queer men’s health.

Spunk uses evidence-based counselling techniques, including: Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Community Reinforcement Approach (CRA).
